Xtina Breathes New Life Into A Great Big World

This has to be one of the best songs of 2013!
Life for A Great Big World (aka, the musical duo of Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino) is moving at warp speed. Their collaboration with Christina Aguilera on “Say Something” has, quite simply, completely changed their careers.

Xtina first heard the song while watching So You Think You Can Dance. “And then we got a call and were in L.A. like a week later recording with her,” Vaccarino said as he and Axel walked the red carpet at the 2013 American Music Awards.
Not long after that, they were performing the ballad with Xtina on The Voice. “We were touring and we canceled some shows to make it happen,” Axel said. “Everything was happening so fast.”

And to think it was Aguilera’s wish not to be at the center of the song. “She’s just connecting with the song and singing so vulnerably,” Axel said. “We wanted her to take a verse on it and she’s like, ‘No, I want to let the song be. I want to let it breath and be open.’ We were just floored by the whole thing.”

Most of what we hear in the rereleased single happened “in the first few takes,” Axel said.
“You have to be on your game,” Vaccarino said.

“She’s a really fast learner,” Axel added. “The process was actually really fast, just going back and forth and trying different lines. She’s super pro.”
And then there was shooting the video for the song.

“That was like another world,” Vaccarino gushed. “I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Jurassic Park or ET at Universal Studios, but it felt like that. It literally was like walking into another world.”

“We had never done a video shoot like that before,” Axel said. “Our last video was one camera and at our friend’s Christmas party.”

Who is Tom Cruise Rumored To Be Dating?

I really hope this IS a rumor, otherwise my opinion of this woman has dropped…
Warner Bros Entertainment at Comic-Con International 2013 - Day 3
Tom Cruise, 51, was recently seen wining and dining…OK, having lunch with Orange Is the New Black [and That 70s Show] star, Laura Prepon, 33. Noooooooo
Both are members of the Church of Scientology, so it would make sense that the two might be getting it on. However, Cruise’s
reps deny that anything is going down between the duo.
HBO's Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Post Award Reception - Arrivals
Obviously this is just a rumor, but it would make sense [and, probably more importantly, good for Scientology] if Cruise wooed Prepon. Plus, she’s both tall and red-headed, and we know he has a type…

What’s your opinion on this pairing??

Nerd Gay vs. Pop Culture Gay

As I mentioned in my first post onto us site, there are two types of gays; Nerdy and Pop Culture (yes, I’m aware of many more subcultures, but for the point of this post, there are only two).
In many aspects, we differ greatly, and in some, we are very similar.

My boyfriend and I are a great example of how these opposites do and can attract.
Currently, he is sitting on his computer playing Sim City 4, while I browse various websites and blogs searching for scandalous gossip from the AMAs, to no doubt bore him with.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good Sims 3 session as much as the next person. But, whereas I play it more to dress my good looking Sims in the best designer outfits and furnish their houses to look as close to an episode of Million Dollar Listing as possible, My bf plays to create a functioning town or city. Last night I got a tour of his Sim City town, that is broken up to different areas (mining, trading, etc..), It actually looked quite good as i was quite interested in his thought process when planning it. however, If I was playing Sim City, everything would be placed where it complimented the other buildings without a thought of air pollution, smog and anything else he was explaining to me last night.

Even within our relationship, our opposites compliment each other quite well. He’s studying law and philosophy, and has a very methodical way of looking at and analysing things. Where, I’m a choreographer and costume designer and I’m ruled solely through the heart that I wear on my sleeve, and the stupid impulses that come from being so artistic and scattered at times.

I look at the two of us sometimes and think how the hell did we get together when we are so opposite? Then I think of the things we share and have in common; we both do theatre (which is where we met), we love RuPaul’s Drag Race, Face Off and Heroes of Cosplay. We both share a wicked sense of humour that is mixed with more sarcasm and sass than a drag queen convention to handle. We enjoy the same foods (except seafood), alcohol, music and for the most part movies.

He will probably kill me for this, but as a visual explanation, here’s the difference in the selfies we take

Ain't he cute…

The best part about dating an opposite gay is that you open each other's eyes to new things. The too many things to list here, but we both have grown a lot from having each other in our lives.

I think I will explore this in more depth as this blog site develops. So, let me know what you think below. Are you and your partner opposites? If so, share your experiences below.

Nerdgasming Over Day Of The Doctor

This is one time where the inner gay nerd inside me comes out and squeals with excitement and I nerdgasm all over everything!
The 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who was broadcast yesterday, 6am AEST.
I’ve just finished wacthing it [27 hours later], but OMG it was worth the wait.
I was going to review it, but don’t wanna be continually write “Spoilers” throughout, so instead, I’ve decided to waffle for a few sentences, post a pic and hit publish!

Before I do that, feel free to add your comments to the bottom of this post if you watched the “Day of The Doctor” special, and let me know what you thought.
Was it everything you wanted it to be?
Did it miss the mark?
What do you think?

Fangirling with Detox

Last night the Ladies of DWV [Detox iCunt, Willam & Vicky Vox] came to Wollongong on their “It’s A Shit Show” Tour.
They were meant to be performing at the opening of the new “Safe Venue”, Industry. But, for reasons that have not been diclosed, they performed at the Pre-Launch Party which was held at Questions [A seedy old club in the heart of The 'Gong].

Terrace Patio, My boyfriend and myself went to Fangirl over the three ladies, along with a few other gays and lady lovers.
The night itself was a little disappointing – the venue wasn’t great, the drinks were cheap [which made it better], the girls arrived late, and there was much confusion about when they were performing and what time the Meet & Greet started, none the less, they arrived, performed and met and greeted their fans.

The three of us met all 3 of DWV at different times. Willam was a little rude and condescending [no real surpises], she also groped my boy when he said he was one of her biggest fans – after feeling hos crotch, she agreed <insert my cheesy smiles here>
We got a photo, with her, but were happy to let her sit on the couch and act like a goddess *rolls eyes*

We then met Detox, who is one of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever met. We chatted to her for a bout 5 minutes. We talked about the show, how to pronouce Wollongong correctly, and tried to get goss on the very sexy minder for the girls, who we referred to as “Skinny Jeans” all night. We also got a photo with her [and her sassy assistant, Shannel].

As we were leaving, we had a quick chat and a photo with Vicky, who decided to inspect my boyfriend’s outfit, before nodding in approval and continuing the M&G. she was nice, but didn’t seem in the mood to be talking to people. They must’ve ran outta fried chicken backstage or something *shrugs*

Then, today to add to our fan girling over Detox, I noticed she liked my pic [above] that I posted on my personal Instagram account #jesuswept

Detox, if you read this *prays* You’re a stunning human being, and I want you to Marry me. Sorry baby.

Have any of my readers been to a DWV show? Did you meet them?
